Dillon Stolz - Novae Popschool (English)

About Dillon Stolz.

Hi, my name is Dillon Stolz! I teach guitar and ukulele on Saturdays at Novae Popschool in Ede.

I am a multi-instrumentalist and visual artist, and I also teach both art forms for a living.

I was born in Miami, USA, where I have lived the majority of my life. During my time there, I taught guitar, bass, ukulele, and drums for many years.

I love music, and I’m really passionate about developing my own skills, as well as sharing it with others. I consider myself a life-long learner (someday, I would love to get really good at the banjo!).

Wide range of experience

I have been playing guitar since I was 16. Very soon after, I started to regret not picking up this amazing instrument much sooner in my life. I always loved art, and I would draw regularly ever since I was 3 years old, but soon enough music became my whole life.

I studied music at Miami Dade College, and earned a degree in Music & Music Education there, with a special focus on jazz guitar. Soon thereafter, I went on to earn a bachelor in Art Education at Florida International University.

Aside from teaching independently for nearly 10 years, I have also performed in all kinds of musical projects: in my high school and college years along with friends and classmates, playing different instruments and leading worship in churches, and until recently, played drums in the Miami-based folk-rock band, Station 22 (a.k.a. The Fortune Tellers).

Throughout all of these different projects, I have gained tons of experience in nearly all major contemporary music genres: rock, pop, metal, folk, jazz, Latin, reggae, ska, punk, progressive rock, gospel. And I absolutely love all of it!

What can you expect from lessons with me?

I am fluent in both English and Dutch, and I am comfortable teaching in either language. If you are an expat or non-Dutch student and are interested in music lessons taught in English, I’m your guy! I have lots of experience teaching music-lovers of all ages: kids, teenagers, and adults. I am friendly, patient, and enthusiastic, and I teach both guitar and ukulele.

During my lessons, we will work on using correct technique, learn to play chords and scales, and just a bit of music theory, so that you can get as much enjoyment out of playing your instrument. We will work on your sound, feel, interpretation and improvisation. And I would be happy to help you learn all your favorite songs!

But above all else, my top priority is for these lessons to be fun. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you learn exactly what you want to learn. It would be my pleasure to help you achieve your dreams with patience and enthusiasm, and hopefully, to be able to share my love of music with you.

Your own musical goals come first!
